A 15-year-old has died after being attacked by a shark in New South Wales.
Mani Hart-Deville was out for a day of surfing in the remote Wilsons Headland at Wooli Beach, north Coffs Harbour July 11.
Witness stated a large great white shark bit Deville’s legs, left and then returned for a second attack.
Another surfer paddled over to Deville and began fighting the shark. After it swam away, good Samaritans pulled Deville back to shore.
Rescuers attempted to stem the bleeding and began CPR, but the wounds were to severe and Deville passed away.
Following shark attack protocol, the beach has been closed. Authorities are using drones to scan the area in an attempt to locate the shark.
This is the second fatal shark attack in the country within a week and the fifth fatal shark attack in Australia this year.
